X is for eXcitement

My A-Z Theme is based on my books, the Game On series. You won’t need to have read them to follow this story, since it’s slightly removed from the full plot, like a side story. What it will do is give you a glimpse into my characters, and a chance to get to know them a little bit, PLUS, during the story, you will get a mini tour of parts of the UK! The posts will come from two of my main characters, Leah Walker and Radleigh McCoy.  If this is your first time here, please start at the letter A. :D

X - eXcitement (Yes, I'm cheating a little! :p)
(Radleigh)

It was raining. Again. It had hardly stopped the whole time we’d been in Cornwall, and this time it had woken me up at 5am, beating against the windows. Leah was still fast asleep, cuddled into my side, her arm across my chest.

The first time she fell asleep beside me, I didn’t think it would ever happen again, but now I got to wake up beside her every day.

I should have known after the first time how much Leah meant to me. I never fell asleep with any woman after a one night stand. I waited for the woman to fall asleep then got the hell out of there. I didn’t want to leave Leah. That moment I realised I didn’t want to rush to get away from her after I got what I wanted was scary. Because I hadn’t got what I wanted from her. One night wasn’t enough.
Screwing around was… it was fun for a while. Leah gave me a different kind of excitement. The kind that made me want to stay around to find out where we were headed instead of looking for something else.

  1. I admit I've understood the appeal of a one night stand.

  2. After several days away at a writers conference, I am so glad to be back in my own bed next to my husband. Best thing in the world.

  3. Hi Kyra, both of us have cheated for the alphabet X....we decided it will be Xcitement. I am enjoying seeing him fall in love with Leah. The way his feelings go beyond the one-night stand.

  6. A lot of people have been cheating today, so don't worry about it! I think this turned out great. It's always great to see what Radleigh is thinking.

  7. I love being in Radleigh's head. I think it's a surprise for studly men like that when they do find the excitement of a long term relationship. :)

It's here! WIP: The Movie!

I can't even tell you have excited I have been about this! It's early, so I have only got round to a few entries so far, but I am having a blast reading them all! Thanks to all who have participated, and of course, to my awesome co-host, Rachel ! It's time for me to introduce you to the characters from my - as yet untitled - WIP. When I first started this blog, my WIP was different, so this might confuse some of you (sorry about that!). This is Leah Walker, my MC. Technically, she is a little young, but she looks perfect! Leah is a physiotherapist for an American soccer team, but she is actually an English girl with a, let's say, colourful past. Radleigh McCoy is the ridiculously good-looking, not to mention exceptionally arrogant soccer player who challenges Leah in every way possible.  This is Freya Phillips. Freya is Leah's best friend and roommate. She works as a coach for the soccer team, and she is both very kind, and totally wild! Th...

Camp NaNo Update, and details

To begin with, I want to say thanks again to Emily for allowing me onto her blog as a blogging mentor! Being interviewed is always fun, and Emily is awesome! So, to Camp NaNo! Four days in and I'm still on track! Well, I will be when I finish today's writing. :D I mentioned a while ago that I was planning to battle boy POV, and I'm doing my best to get through it. However, it is hard, so I decided to turn my NaNo story into dual POV so it will be 50% less difficult! I'm not against cheating to get the work done. :p Just to give you a quick recap on what I'm doing for NaNo: In Game On, I have a young soccer player named Jesse Shaw, and he proved quite popular during the A-Z challenge. So, I decided he needed his own spin-off story! It's set at the end of the soccer season, when Jesse and his best friend go to London. I don't have a proper synopsis yet, but this is my guideline for now Soccer sensation Jesse Shaw literally has the world at his fee...

IWSG: Books Sales

IWSG time! I'd like to start by thanking Alex J. Cavanaugh for this fab bloghop, and today in particular, it is just the motivation I need to get me blogging again! Today, I'm talking book sales. Now, I don't really know if there is any kind of "average" amount of books sales when you're an indie author. I don't know what is considered a good amount of book sales per month, or whether I am doing better or worse than others. What I do know, is that I am happy with the amount of books I've sold. I self-published because I want people to read my work - and people are reading it - yay! My concern is - what if the sales stop? I know after a time, everyone's book sales will slow down, but I have this fear that I'll check my sales every couple of weeks to find that nobody cares about reading my books anymore. The dreaded 0 will show on my Kindle sales, and I will plummet into a pit of despair. It hasn't happened yet, but Game On has onl...
