I is for Intimacy

My A-Z Theme is based on my books, the Game On series. You won’t need to have read them to follow this story, since it’s slightly removed from the full plot, like a side story. What it will do is give you a glimpse into my characters, and a chance to get to know them a little bit, PLUS, during the story, you will get a mini tour of parts of the UK! The posts will come from two of my main characters, Leah Walker and Radleigh McCoy.  If this is your first time here, please start at the letter A. :D

 I - Intimacy
(Leah)

Being in Cornwall with Radleigh was a pretty weird experience. Just as I suspected, he was baffled by the quaintness, but at the same time, he soaked it up. He listened to my stories and with each one, some of my apprehension over being with him fell away.

Nobody could blame me for being cautious, right? We went through a lot. There was never a part of me that didn’t want to be with him, but I had to hold back just a little, just to be sure. After the apologies, and the realisation that we’d both messed up before, intimacy was building between us. Not just physical intimacy – we’d never had a problem in that area. It was everything. He was still the arrogant berk he was when I first met him, but it came out in different ways. Instead of trying to find the fastest way to make me want to throttle him, he used his egocentric side to make me laugh.

Truth be told, I’d never wanted to change that side of him. Call me crazy, but when he’s being an arrogant pain in the ass, he’s sexy as hell. I just needed him to rein it in a bit. To show me I meant more than the floozies that hopped in and out of his bed. He’d done that.
We’d proved to each other that we were where we wanted to be.

Today's Teaser comes from Blindsided, the second book in the Game On Series.
Blurb: After a successful first soccer season in L.A, Jesse Shaw heads to London with his best buddy, Hunter, but his world is turned upside down when a dangerous prank threatens his career and his blossoming relationship with Hunter’s cousin, Isabelle.

Isabelle Mills lives in Notting Hill with her parents and her twin sister, Georgia. When she finds out her cousin is coming to stay, along with his famous soccer player friend, her first instinct is to hibernate until they’ve gone. However, once she meets Jesse, everything changes. He’s everything she ever wanted, but with so many obstacles in their path, can she really risk putting her heart on the line?

  3. It's true that a guy's arrogant side can both be sexy as hell and make you want to strangle them. I've been there. And the teaser is awesome!

  4. Oh, I like the way their relationship is morphing and wrapping around them--like they're becoming soul mates instead of starting out that way.

I agree with L.G. - that teaser is great.

  5. We were soul mates from the beginning. But not everyone is! :D Love how it's coming along! <3

  9. Darn right we can't blame her for being cautious. :) I liked watching their relationship change in Game On. I hope you don't break them up ever, in this series. :)

IWSG: Performance anxiety

Welcome to the August edition of IWSG, hosted by the amazing Alex J.Cavanaugh ! So, as most of you know by now - because I haven't shut up about it LOL - my first novel, Game On, has been released. The blog tour officially starts next week (YAY!) but I find myself becoming increasingly nervous. A blog tour not only highlights my book, but me. What if people don't like me? What if my guest posts suck, and everyone thinks I'm boring? If I can't engage people in 300 words on a blog, they probably aren't going to pick up my book. And then there's the "what happens next" question. I plan to make Game On into a series, which feels a bit arrogant of me. I don't know how many people are going to like the first book, should I really be planning to keep the series going? So far, Game On has actually been incredibly well received. I've had great reviews, so maybe I shouldn't worry about people not liking it, but what if Book Two isn't as goo...

IWSG: Books Sales

IWSG time! I'd like to start by thanking Alex J. Cavanaugh for this fab bloghop, and today in particular, it is just the motivation I need to get me blogging again! Today, I'm talking book sales. Now, I don't really know if there is any kind of "average" amount of books sales when you're an indie author. I don't know what is considered a good amount of book sales per month, or whether I am doing better or worse than others. What I do know, is that I am happy with the amount of books I've sold. I self-published because I want people to read my work - and people are reading it - yay! My concern is - what if the sales stop? I know after a time, everyone's book sales will slow down, but I have this fear that I'll check my sales every couple of weeks to find that nobody cares about reading my books anymore. The dreaded 0 will show on my Kindle sales, and I will plummet into a pit of despair. It hasn't happened yet, but Game On has onl...

IWSG: Am I doing it right? And does anyone care?

Happy IWSG Day! This genius idea created by Alex J. Cavanaugh is a place for all of us insecure writers to gather together to talk about our worries, and cheer each other on. Check out the full list of participants here ! Think right now about your favourite writers. How do you feel when you know they have a new book being released? It's usually something like, "HURRY UP, I CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE!" right? And also, think about when one of your super talented blog buddies announces they've got a book coming out soon. That is even more exciting because it's someone you know, someone you may have seen struggling to reach their goal of publication. Someone you've seen go through the rough times, and have finally made it to where they want to be. I can tell you that when Jolene Perry, or Nyrae Dawn announce a book release - I bounce up and down like a crazy person! These two awesome ladies are writers I absolutely adore for their ability to write so natural...
