Apologies

Hey guys! I feel like I owe you all a gigantic apology. I said I was back into this blogging thing, but since I last posted, stuff happened. First and foremost, last week, my best friend's cat was taken suddenly ill, and we had to have her put to sleep last Wednesday. To some, that might sound like a feeble excuse, and I understand why. I used to feel the same. I always understood pet death would be sad, but before I had pets, I just kind of... shrugged it off. NOW I know better, and it wasn't even my cat. It's been a rough week for my friend, and I've spent a lot of time trying to help out in any way I can. It was pretty awful to see such a beautiful, full of life cat disintegrate so suddenly, and while it's not as hard for me as for my friend, it still hit me in a way I hadn't expected. Secondly, I've been super busy sorting out the book signing stuff! Annalisa pointed out- rightly so - that I didn't include details of where it's happening in...

Trying something new

I often see people writing out their weekly or monthly goals on their blog, and it's a great idea. I've never done it before, but this week I REALLY need it. I've got a bunch of leftover stuff from last year I need to finish off, plus some new things to work on and if I don't write them down and make myself accountable - I might put it off forever! I doubt I'll make this a regular thing but when I really need to get my bum in gear, I will write out what needs to be done for everyone to see. Feel free to throw things at me next week if I haven't ticked most of it off! Schedule all blog posts I have for other bloggers to promote/reveal covers so I don't have to do it at the last minute Post prizes from Blindsided Blog Tour (Some have already gone out, but I still have more to do) Write up guest post for Cassie Mae's blog and email it Read a couple more chapters of The Fire In Fiction Finish Rouge by Leigh Talbert Moore - I'm nearly done, but...

Game On Blog Tour Day 6 - Crashing Out

Happy weekend, everyone! Just wanted to let you know that, after such a crazy first week, I plan to laze around for the weekend and recharge ready for Monday! I will reply to comments etc when I get back. :D Thank you again for all of your support - and for your input on the title for Book 2! Mixed responses from you about "Blindsided" so I am going to mull it over for a bit longer! Today I will be with Jaycee DeLorenzo - one of the coolest people in the blogosphere - giving an interview about all things Game On. And also, the amazing Hildred is letting me drop by her blog to talk about the characters from the book. :D Keeping it short today, but I will be back to my usual chatty self next week LOL! OH, and before I forget - there is one more day left to enter the Goodreads giveaway for a paperback copy of Game On, but if you miss that one, there are still 8 days to enter Clare Dugmore's Game On paperback giveaway , too!

Game On - One Book, Two Covers!

ARGH! So, you know how I did the Game On cover reveal a while ago? Well, it was hugely popular with everyone, lots of good comments for the work my friend Bobbie did on the design, and I thought it was perfect. It IS perfect. But while getting ready for the blog tour, there was some confusion about who the story is actually aimed at. The young, cute looking characters led some to believe that Game On is YA, when in fact it fits better into the category of NA, contemporary romance, and/or chick lit. This is something I should have considered before, and to those of you who pointed it out, please don't feel bad. It's something I needed to know so I could create a cover that fits better. After much research, a couple of emails to Jolene Perry (thank you!), and my original designer, I decided that I am having two covers. For the Kindle and other ebook versions, I will use a new design. For the print book, I am keeping the old design. Having different covers isn't ideal,...

Does it ever end?

Here's a brief rundown of my thoughts when I started reading my proof copy of Game On. YAY! This first chapter rocks! Haha, I love it when I make myself laugh! Oh ... there's an extra space between those two words, but nobody will notice, it's not worth editing the whole file just for that. Hmm, I think there could be more in this part, it's a bit lacking in feeling. CRAP THERE IS A GIGANTIC ERROR!  This book sucks, and I've already sent it out to a bunch of people - I am so screwed. Trust me, I have proofread this book until my eyes bled, and it's still not right. I know, I know, striving for absolute perfection is probably a waste of time because you can't please everyone. I just thought that I would be pleased by now. *sigh* It's really not a disaster. It's just ... if I can fix those little things now, before the book goes on sale, I will be much happier. To the fab people who have advanced copies, I hope you can see past the errors, ...

I did something weird ...

... but before I indulge the weird thing I did, I must just give a shoutout to Jaycee DeLorenzo and Victoria Smith! They will be hosting the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun bloghop, which is a follow up to their Oh, My Hero Bloghop - which was super fun! To find out more, click on the links above! Don't miss it, it's gonna be great! Now - the weird thing I did. Yeah. Anyone who knows me will know that I have avoided anything NaNo because the idea of trying to force 50,000 words out of my brain in a month makes me shudder. However, I'd like to get my next book idea finished quite quickly, and NaNo seems like the perfect challenge to get it moving. So, in June, I am gonna go for it! I chose June because there is no freaking way I am spending August holed up in my house to write - it will be summer! Plus starting in June gives me less time to talk myself out of it lol.If you're participating, let me know! Here is my profile . I do still have a bunch of edits to d...

Eye strain!

I have been working my butt off, trying to sort out my WiP, and editing the book I hope to self-publish. The downside of this is that my eyes are killing me, so I am going to keep this pretty short! I look like some kind of monster, with enormous dark circles under my eyes, and I'm cranky because I look like crap. Ideas whizz around my brain at night, keeping me awake for a stupidly long time which is only adding to my grouchiness. Thankfully, I actually slept reasonably well last night but man.... And my eyes are aching. I have taken most of the day off, but I had articles to write, so it's hard to find time to really rest! What do you do when you have days of looking like hell from too much time at the computer? Please tell me I'm not alone!
