I did it ... almost!

And so begins another week! How we are halfway through January already, I have no idea!

Thanks to all of you for your input about editing Game On and re-writing If I Let You Go. I had a look back over Game On and it isn't half as bad as I thought it was. In my head, it's a big mess of horrendous word use and bad grammar. The reality is - it's actually pretty good. Well, I think so, anyway lol! So, I might just leave it be. But there will be more IILYG from the male POV soon-ish.

Last week I set my first ever list of goals. Well, the first list I've ever made public, anyway. Here's what I achieved:

Schedule all blog posts I have for other bloggers to promote/reveal covers so I don't have to do it at the last minute - DONE!

Post prizes from Blindsided Blog Tour (Some have already gone out, but I still have more to do) All but one have been posted now. I should get to the last one this week.

Write up guest post for Cassie Mae's blog and email it Done and emailed.

Read a couple more chapters of The Fire In Fiction - Fail. But in my defense, I got Save The Cat this week, and read that instead!

Finish Rouge by Leigh Talbert Moore - I'm nearly done, but I keep getting distracted by all the other things I need to do Done, and then I also read Ocean Kills by Jade Hart, which might I say, is a work of genius!

Quit daydreaming, I don't have time (LOL!)- I failed here, but most of you said it's okay to daydream so I don't feel too guilty. :p

Oh ... and write! Hmm. I did some writing, so I guess that counts. For the most part, though, my WIP stressed me out and I didn't know what to do with it. Hopefully this week it will be easier.

I'm not setting any goals for this week, mainly because I'm not sure what I'll have time for just yet. I have a bunch of stuff happening at home so I will just do what I can and get back to my goals next week. :D Happy Monday, everyone!

  2. Well done on achieving so many goals, Kyra, that's impressive! I tried goal-setting over the weekend with the novel, but completely underestimated the work needing done! Hope you have a good week ahead :) x

IWSG: Performance anxiety

Welcome to the August edition of IWSG, hosted by the amazing Alex J.Cavanaugh ! So, as most of you know by now - because I haven't shut up about it LOL - my first novel, Game On, has been released. The blog tour officially starts next week (YAY!) but I find myself becoming increasingly nervous. A blog tour not only highlights my book, but me. What if people don't like me? What if my guest posts suck, and everyone thinks I'm boring? If I can't engage people in 300 words on a blog, they probably aren't going to pick up my book. And then there's the "what happens next" question. I plan to make Game On into a series, which feels a bit arrogant of me. I don't know how many people are going to like the first book, should I really be planning to keep the series going? So far, Game On has actually been incredibly well received. I've had great reviews, so maybe I shouldn't worry about people not liking it, but what if Book Two isn't as goo

Dust It Off Bloghop!

Welcome to day one of the Dust It Off Bloghop, hosted by Theresa Paolo and Cortney Pearson ! This hop is all about the WIPs you wrote, and then shelved! Okay, so I am teaming up with Clare Dugmore for this one, because back in 2006 - yup, we've known each other THAT long lol! - we started to write a book together. Unfortunately, other commitments got in the way and we never finished it - but even so many years on - it's still something we remember fondly, so we're going to dust it off for you! The first day, May 3rd: We want you to post a 1-2 sentence pitch (Great way to practice pitches) about the shelved WIP. Here is the pitch Clare and I came up with: For best friends Caitlin and Tori, their first acting job out of Uni opens up a whole new world for them – unfortunately, it wasn’t the world they were expecting. When the strains of adult life and tangled relationships threaten to ruin their friendship, they are forced to take a look at what’s really importan
