1304 – The Harbinger
By Christine Rains
MEIRA & SAM
Life is wonderful for modern day harpy
Meira Harper. Her jobs consist of wearing designer shoes and fetching souls for
Zeus. Well, it's wonderful until she gets the command to collect the soul of
the man she loves. She's willing to do whatever it takes to save Sam, even if it
means him rejecting her for never revealing her true self and being turned into
a poodle by Hera.
Sam Wright loves the simple things in life.
Family, good people, and his beautiful girlfriend. When he dies saving a woman
and her daughter, his soul is claimed by Zeus. What Sam discovers when he's
taken to Olympus is that Meira managed to get him a chance to live by
participating in three challenges set up by the gods. He may be a hero, but the
gods never play fairly.
Meira and Sam have been dating for a few
months. Their chance at a life together is taken from them, and though Meira
believes she'll never get him back, she's going to make sure he lives. It's bad
enough that Sam sees her true form as a harpy with her ugly bird feet, but he
wants a simple life. No drama or lies. It's one thing to have her heart broken
when Sam states he couldn't handle her lies, but to know that they could've
never had a life together even if he didn't die tears her up inside.
It was a big challenge for me to not let
this story turn into a tragedy. Meira and Sam go through the wringer more so
than any other couple in the 13th Floor series. The gods are merciless, but so
are the actions taken by one with a good heart. Pick up The Harbinger and
discover if Meira and Sam find their happily ever after, the gods get what they
want as usual, or if everyone ends up as yappy little dogs.

Title: 1304 – The Harbinger
(The 13th Floor series, #4)
Author: Christine Rains
Genre: paranormal romance
Release date: March 13th, 2013
Blurb:
Meira Harper loves both her jobs: talking about beautiful shoes and
fetching souls for Zeus. But the Thunder God threatens the harpy's loyalty to
her job when she receives the call to bring the soul of gorgeous Sam Wright.
Meira pleads with her boss to let him live. Zeus agrees, but Sam must fight for
his life. If Sam can win three challenges, he can keep his soul.
The gods never play fairly, though, so Meira needs to find ways to
help Sam with the challenges. She cannot outwardly cross her master, but she
refuses to let the man she loves lose his soul. They haven't even had a chance
to start a life together.
Sam's soul is on the line. Meira's will be too if she's caught, but
that's a risk she's willing to take.

Happy Wednesday, y'all!
It sounds like another great story, well done Christine :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annalisa! :)
DeleteYup the gods like Zeus are an unfair bunch. I really like the modern twist you put on this story. Sounds like an exciting read.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Zeus and the rest of the gods are devious, but so much fun to write.
DeleteThanks for hosting me today, Kyra! :) Four down, two more to go!
ReplyDeleteReady for another great story from Christine!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your support, Alex!
DeleteSounds great Christine!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jaybird!
DeleteThe gods never play fair, but they really don't have to. LOL! I'm so glad Meira got Sam a fighting chance to live. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so true! *LOL* Besides, it's more entertaining when they don't. Hehehe!
DeleteSounds kind of like a Romeo and Juliet story!
ReplyDeleteAt least Romeo and Juliet didn't have to deal with supernatural monsters! :)
DeleteHarbinger has to be one of the coolest words. It's in my top twenty. (Serendipity is #1...I knew you were curious!)
ReplyDeleteI know I was curious! and agreed, it's a cool word! I'm always amazed by Christene's choice of characters! Excellent!
DeleteCongrats to Christine :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteCongratulations. It is a wonderful story.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jai! :)
DeleteOh dear! A poodle? At least they still have some fashion sense. I really look forward to reading this.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday, Kyra! Congrats Christine!
Thanks, Mary! Yes, well, it is Hera turning people into dogs. And she has the finest fashion sense of all women!
DeleteWow, intense! I love all the obstacles that Meira and Sam have to face. That, plus my utter fangirliness for Greek mythology, easily makes this the 13th Floor book I'm most intrigued about! :D
ReplyDeleteCool. Thank you!
DeleteThat's it! I'm renting a room on floor 13!! :D
ReplyDeleteThat's it! I'm renting a room on floor 13!! :D
ReplyDelete*LOL* IF the 13th Floor allows you to. hehehe!
DeleteCongrats Christine! This sounds intense. Those Greek gods tend to be tricksy characters.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nick!
DeleteCongrats to Christine!
ReplyDeleteI love words, and so I'm off to google Harbinger... not too sure about its meaning...
Thank you, Michelle! I wasn't sure of its meaning before I wrote this book either. Yet calling the story "The Harpy" didn't have as nice of a ring to it.
DeleteChristine knows how to make it rain, baby. Congrats to her. :)
ReplyDeleteMina, thank you! It's so much torturing characters in love. BWUHAHAHAHA!!!
DeleteAnother good installment for the 13th Floor series!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nicole!
DeleteAnother great installment! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa!
Deletethis sounds fab - next on my TBR list me thinks!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Laura!
DeleteI know what you mean. Although I don't draw the settings (I know I should, but then I have a million other stuff I should do for my fantasy as well. Sigh.), I've researched prevalent architecture for the buildings I used and collected photos so that I know where I am and what I'm talking about.
ReplyDeleteGreat interview! Read Me Dead sounds like it has a really good story in there!
