Alex-fest!

Hee hee, I have been so looking forward to this! For those of you who have lived in a cave since you've been blogging, this hop is to celebrate the awesomeness that is Alex J. Cavanaugh - best known as the Ninja Captain! Honestly, I can't thank him enough for everything he's done, not just for me, but for the entire blogopshere! Cheers, Alex!

1) What does Alex look like?  Frank Sinatra LOL! I see him as this really, suave, cool individual who has the ability to make people smile!
2) Who could play Alex in a documentary? (Living or dead.) See above. :D
3) Who does Alex remind you of? Heh, when I think of Alex, I sort of see some kind of magical being who runs around like a headless chicken trying to get through the 50 million blog posts he has to read, and yet somehow, doing it with style! Like Speedy Gonzales in a tux LOL!
4) In +/- 100 words, (excluding the title) write flash fiction using all these prompts:

Cavanaugh
Ninja
IWSG
Cosbolt
Guitar
It was always Alex J Cavanaugh's dream to be a Cosbolt pilot, but it turned out, his rock n roll ambitions were far too strong! Our Ninja Captain can now be seen strumming his guitar in pubs and clubs all over the world, where the faithful members of IWSG follow his tour bus, screaming, and begging him to come back to the blogosphere!
And to Mrs Cavanaugh, I'd like to extend a huge thank you for sharing your hubby with us! You are a very lucky lady!

Quick note - I will be announcing the winners of the Blindsided Christmas Photo hop later this week! I didn't want you to think I'd forgotten!

  1. Great flash fiction piece! This says it best: "...where the faithful members of IWSG follow his tour bus, screaming, and begging him to come back to the blogosphere." Perfect choice of words, Kyra!

  2. Frank Sinatra! Awesome. And "the faithful members of IWSG... screaming, and begging him to come back..." is so funny and quite possibly true! LOL :D

  3. If I was a rock star, I'd have groupies????
Speedy in a tux. Good, because I would not look good in a sombrero.
Thanks so much for the kind words, Kyra! Always ready to help you in any way I can.

  7. Frank Sinatra? Wow...he was a hottie when he was young. Old blue eyes...and such a crooner. I love his songs.

  8. Frank Sinatra, excellent choice, Kyra :)

  10. Love your fiction piece. The whole post was music to my ears...that cheesy pun was free of charge!

  11. Oo, Frank Sinatra. Good choice! :D

  12. This alternate tale would be sad for blogdom. If Capt'n Alex could be a young Sinatra, a la Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls? Yes, then I could see it. I cannot picture a Vegas Alex. . .

  13. Ol' Blue Eyes, eh? I went with Speedy too, but didn't shove him in a tux. :-)

  14. haha...Love the idea of Alex as Sinatra. And i'll definitely be one of the screaming groupies on his rock-n-roll tour. Great entry!! :)

  15. Good job on the flash fiction! I've tried writing it before, but it's hard to keep it short. I like the comparison to Frank Sinatra. They just don't make actors (or singers) like him anymore.

  16. I picture more of a Dean Martin than a Frank Sinatra! :)

It's here! WIP: The Movie!

I can't even tell you have excited I have been about this! It's early, so I have only got round to a few entries so far, but I am having a blast reading them all! Thanks to all who have participated, and of course, to my awesome co-host, Rachel ! It's time for me to introduce you to the characters from my - as yet untitled - WIP. When I first started this blog, my WIP was different, so this might confuse some of you (sorry about that!). This is Leah Walker, my MC. Technically, she is a little young, but she looks perfect! Leah is a physiotherapist for an American soccer team, but she is actually an English girl with a, let's say, colourful past. Radleigh McCoy is the ridiculously good-looking, not to mention exceptionally arrogant soccer player who challenges Leah in every way possible.  This is Freya Phillips. Freya is Leah's best friend and roommate. She works as a coach for the soccer team, and she is both very kind, and totally wild! Th...

IWSG: Books Sales

IWSG time! I'd like to start by thanking Alex J. Cavanaugh for this fab bloghop, and today in particular, it is just the motivation I need to get me blogging again! Today, I'm talking book sales. Now, I don't really know if there is any kind of "average" amount of books sales when you're an indie author. I don't know what is considered a good amount of book sales per month, or whether I am doing better or worse than others. What I do know, is that I am happy with the amount of books I've sold. I self-published because I want people to read my work - and people are reading it - yay! My concern is - what if the sales stop? I know after a time, everyone's book sales will slow down, but I have this fear that I'll check my sales every couple of weeks to find that nobody cares about reading my books anymore. The dreaded 0 will show on my Kindle sales, and I will plummet into a pit of despair. It hasn't happened yet, but Game On has onl...

Camp NaNo Update, and details

To begin with, I want to say thanks again to Emily for allowing me onto her blog as a blogging mentor! Being interviewed is always fun, and Emily is awesome! So, to Camp NaNo! Four days in and I'm still on track! Well, I will be when I finish today's writing. :D I mentioned a while ago that I was planning to battle boy POV, and I'm doing my best to get through it. However, it is hard, so I decided to turn my NaNo story into dual POV so it will be 50% less difficult! I'm not against cheating to get the work done. :p Just to give you a quick recap on what I'm doing for NaNo: In Game On, I have a young soccer player named Jesse Shaw, and he proved quite popular during the A-Z challenge. So, I decided he needed his own spin-off story! It's set at the end of the soccer season, when Jesse and his best friend go to London. I don't have a proper synopsis yet, but this is my guideline for now Soccer sensation Jesse Shaw literally has the world at his fee...
