Awards - Part Two

So, yesterday I wrote a REALLY long blog post giving out the Sunshine Award which I received from Tobi Summers and McKenzie McCann. When I woke up this morning, the post had vanished. This makes for a very unhappy Kyra!

Even though my post disappeared somewhere in cyberspace, I wanted to show it off again! As it happens, I got given the award again, plus another award by the lovely Cassie (thank you!), so what I'm going to do is give both awards out now, just in case you missed them yesterday!

Accepting the Sunshine Award means you have to answer the following questions:
  1. Favorite Color?
  2. Favorite Animal? .
  3. Favorite Number?
  4. Favorite (non-alcoholic) drink?
  5. Facebook or Twitter?
  6. My passion?
  7. Getting or Giving presents?
  8. Favorite pattern?
  9. Favorite day of the week?
  10. Favorite flower?
Apologies if you missed my answers - I hate re-creating things! :p

The other award I received was this:

I really like this one a lot! :D  So I am now going to pass BOTH awards on to the following people:

Clare Dugmore
Elizabeth Seckman
Angela Cothran
Kelley Lynn
Rachel Schieffelbein

I also gave a reminder about the WIP: The Movie blogfest, which is just a week away! More details can be found here

  6. Sometimes this has happened to me because the post was a draft, and it had a really old date when I first made it a draft...so when I published it, it appeared way in the past. Not sure if this happened to you? I don't think it happens on the new blogger platform, so if you're on that one then this clearly isn't your problem. But I thought I'd share just in case ;)

    Congrats on the awards anyway!

GUTGAA Meet and Greet!

Oh, I have SO been looking forward to this!! But, before I start, I need to send a huge apology to Emily R.King and Melodie Wright. I signed up to their What I Did Last Summer Bloghop , but it looks like I'm not going to have the time to participate. :( I've never backed out of a bloghop before, but as you may have noticed, I've been kind of out of the blogging loop for a while and now I'm struggling to catch up! Please go and check out Emily and Melodie's hop, though - it's fun! :D NOW, onto GUTGAA! This amazing blogfest was put together by Deana Barnhart , and was designed to help writers in their quest to find an agent, plus help form connections between writers. The idea is genius and I am so excited to be a part of it! So, I am going to begin with the meet and greet questions, and I'll be hopping around to other blogs later! :D Bio : Kyra Lennon was born on the South coast of England, and to this day, still lives by the sea. IWSG: Am I doing it right? And does anyone care?

Happy IWSG Day! This genius idea created by Alex J. Cavanaugh is a place for all of us insecure writers to gather together to talk about our worries, and cheer each other on. Check out the full list of participants here ! Think right now about your favourite writers. How do you feel when you know they have a new book being released? It's usually something like, "HURRY UP, I CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE!" right? And also, think about when one of your super talented blog buddies announces they've got a book coming out soon. That is even more exciting because it's someone you know, someone you may have seen struggling to reach their goal of publication. Someone you've seen go through the rough times, and have finally made it to where they want to be. I can tell you that when Jolene Perry, or Nyrae Dawn announce a book release - I bounce up and down like a crazy person! These two awesome ladies are writers I absolutely adore for their ability to write so natural...

IWSG: Books Sales

IWSG time! I'd like to start by thanking Alex J. Cavanaugh for this fab bloghop, and today in particular, it is just the motivation I need to get me blogging again! Today, I'm talking book sales. Now, I don't really know if there is any kind of "average" amount of books sales when you're an indie author. I don't know what is considered a good amount of book sales per month, or whether I am doing better or worse than others. What I do know, is that I am happy with the amount of books I've sold. I self-published because I want people to read my work - and people are reading it - yay! My concern is - what if the sales stop? I know after a time, everyone's book sales will slow down, but I have this fear that I'll check my sales every couple of weeks to find that nobody cares about reading my books anymore. The dreaded 0 will show on my Kindle sales, and I will plummet into a pit of despair. It hasn't happened yet, but Game On has onl...
