Finding My Groove

You may have noticed that I broke my blog schedule by not posting on Friday - BUT it was for a very good reason.

I was writing!!

Yes, actually writing. Not just sitting down with the intention to write, then faffing around on Facebook. I wrote words!

This is a really good thing, and not just for the obvious reasons. I have had the hardest time trying to get back into writing Game On 3, so the breakthrough on Friday means I can go back at it today knowing it's not going to take me hours to settle into it. In fact, I am all ready to rock, and since my workload this week is so far non-existent, I'm hoping to crack on with it and MAYBE get it finished by the end of the week!

I know this post is short and to the point, but I can't wait to get back to it! Before I go - here's a small snippet of Bree's story!

After hanging out with the girls, I’d intended to spend a little time with Leah after Freya had gone back to work, but instead I made up a stupid excuse that I had to get home. She must have seen through it. What was I rushing back to? Jude was at work, and I didn’t have so much as a pet hamster to take care of. Even if I did have a pet hamster, it would probably have been taken care of by our housekeeper, just like everything else. I’d told Jude over and over we didn’t need to employ outside help. Or we could at least give her a couple days off. I probably couldn’t take care of our entire five bedroom, four bathroom, plus a million other rooms - including a panic room, a freaking panic room! - house alone. But I could help. Jude wouldn’t hear of it, though. He was cool with me cooking, but aside from a few small jobs, he insisted I let someone else do the work.
I should have been used to it. I’d been with him since I was eighteen, and lived with him since I was seventeen. He’d always treated me like a princess, and I loved him for it. I’d needed someone like him in my life, someone who cared about me unconditionally. When I first moved in with him, we didn’t start dating right away. In fact, he was real careful to keep his distance. I knew why. He didn’t want to be like the other guys in my life who used me and threw me away. Instead, he moved me into his biggest guest room and allowed me to wander around his house, not even slightly worried I’d steal all his shit while he was at work. Not that I ever would have, but I liked that he knew that about me.

  4. So glad you're writing. Skipping a blog post because you're actually writing and not playing around on Facebook is always a good reason.

It's here! WIP: The Movie!

I can't even tell you have excited I have been about this! It's early, so I have only got round to a few entries so far, but I am having a blast reading them all! Thanks to all who have participated, and of course, to my awesome co-host, Rachel ! It's time for me to introduce you to the characters from my - as yet untitled - WIP. When I first started this blog, my WIP was different, so this might confuse some of you (sorry about that!). This is Leah Walker, my MC. Technically, she is a little young, but she looks perfect! Leah is a physiotherapist for an American soccer team, but she is actually an English girl with a, let's say, colourful past. Radleigh McCoy is the ridiculously good-looking, not to mention exceptionally arrogant soccer player who challenges Leah in every way possible.  This is Freya Phillips. Freya is Leah's best friend and roommate. She works as a coach for the soccer team, and she is both very kind, and totally wild! Th...

IWSG: Books Sales

IWSG time! I'd like to start by thanking Alex J. Cavanaugh for this fab bloghop, and today in particular, it is just the motivation I need to get me blogging again! Today, I'm talking book sales. Now, I don't really know if there is any kind of "average" amount of books sales when you're an indie author. I don't know what is considered a good amount of book sales per month, or whether I am doing better or worse than others. What I do know, is that I am happy with the amount of books I've sold. I self-published because I want people to read my work - and people are reading it - yay! My concern is - what if the sales stop? I know after a time, everyone's book sales will slow down, but I have this fear that I'll check my sales every couple of weeks to find that nobody cares about reading my books anymore. The dreaded 0 will show on my Kindle sales, and I will plummet into a pit of despair. It hasn't happened yet, but Game On has onl...

Camp NaNo Update, and details

To begin with, I want to say thanks again to Emily for allowing me onto her blog as a blogging mentor! Being interviewed is always fun, and Emily is awesome! So, to Camp NaNo! Four days in and I'm still on track! Well, I will be when I finish today's writing. :D I mentioned a while ago that I was planning to battle boy POV, and I'm doing my best to get through it. However, it is hard, so I decided to turn my NaNo story into dual POV so it will be 50% less difficult! I'm not against cheating to get the work done. :p Just to give you a quick recap on what I'm doing for NaNo: In Game On, I have a young soccer player named Jesse Shaw, and he proved quite popular during the A-Z challenge. So, I decided he needed his own spin-off story! It's set at the end of the soccer season, when Jesse and his best friend go to London. I don't have a proper synopsis yet, but this is my guideline for now Soccer sensation Jesse Shaw literally has the world at his fee...
