Branding, Writing, and other Busy Stuff

Time is escaping me. This could very easily be a post about the dangers of time-wasting, but I'd like to stay positive today because Game On 3 is coming along nicely now, and I don't want to jinx it by focusing on anything even slightly negative. (Needless to say, much time-wasting happened, but I'm done with that now!)

I have decided on a release date for the next GO book, and it is quickly approaching. Over the weekend, out of nowhere, I got a surge of motivation to get organised, and part of that organisation involved re-branding my teasers for Game On. You see, everyone else's teaser pictures match. They have the same fonts, and the same style so you can see it and instantly think, "Oh, that's one of (insert author's) teasers!" I wanted that. So, I bring you a couple of examples of my improved teaser pics.

Okay, I do realise the third one is a little different, but by "matching" I mean, the title and author parts look the same, and the fonts match, and they all have the same swirly pattern in the corners. My previous ones were a bit of a mish-mash. I like these a lot more.

On the subject of Game On - I think I am going to do a cover reveal next week. If you're interested in giving me a hand, please leave a comment and your email address if I don't already have it - and I will send over the details during the week!

Also, before I go, don't forget the WIP: The Movie Bloghop is on Friday! Follow the link for details and sign-ups!

That's all for now - my characters are calling me!

  11. I think that third works great with the series because it's not a romantic teaser, but one showing off (very nicely) your MC's voice. :)

  16. Mine are a mish mash too. That's one of the beauties of self-publishing, you can tweak as you see fit. I have to be a pain in the butt to my publisher.

You've got my email...hit me up, I'd love to help!

It's here! WIP: The Movie!

I can't even tell you have excited I have been about this! It's early, so I have only got round to a few entries so far, but I am having a blast reading them all! Thanks to all who have participated, and of course, to my awesome co-host, Rachel ! It's time for me to introduce you to the characters from my - as yet untitled - WIP. When I first started this blog, my WIP was different, so this might confuse some of you (sorry about that!). This is Leah Walker, my MC. Technically, she is a little young, but she looks perfect! Leah is a physiotherapist for an American soccer team, but she is actually an English girl with a, let's say, colourful past. Radleigh McCoy is the ridiculously good-looking, not to mention exceptionally arrogant soccer player who challenges Leah in every way possible.  This is Freya Phillips. Freya is Leah's best friend and roommate. She works as a coach for the soccer team, and she is both very kind, and totally wild! Th...

IWSG: Books Sales

IWSG time! I'd like to start by thanking Alex J. Cavanaugh for this fab bloghop, and today in particular, it is just the motivation I need to get me blogging again! Today, I'm talking book sales. Now, I don't really know if there is any kind of "average" amount of books sales when you're an indie author. I don't know what is considered a good amount of book sales per month, or whether I am doing better or worse than others. What I do know, is that I am happy with the amount of books I've sold. I self-published because I want people to read my work - and people are reading it - yay! My concern is - what if the sales stop? I know after a time, everyone's book sales will slow down, but I have this fear that I'll check my sales every couple of weeks to find that nobody cares about reading my books anymore. The dreaded 0 will show on my Kindle sales, and I will plummet into a pit of despair. It hasn't happened yet, but Game On has onl...

Camp NaNo Update, and details

To begin with, I want to say thanks again to Emily for allowing me onto her blog as a blogging mentor! Being interviewed is always fun, and Emily is awesome! So, to Camp NaNo! Four days in and I'm still on track! Well, I will be when I finish today's writing. :D I mentioned a while ago that I was planning to battle boy POV, and I'm doing my best to get through it. However, it is hard, so I decided to turn my NaNo story into dual POV so it will be 50% less difficult! I'm not against cheating to get the work done. :p Just to give you a quick recap on what I'm doing for NaNo: In Game On, I have a young soccer player named Jesse Shaw, and he proved quite popular during the A-Z challenge. So, I decided he needed his own spin-off story! It's set at the end of the soccer season, when Jesse and his best friend go to London. I don't have a proper synopsis yet, but this is my guideline for now Soccer sensation Jesse Shaw literally has the world at his fee...
