Teaser Tuesday: Lengths by Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt

I know, I don't usually do Teaser Tuesdays, but I feel like I haven't posted in forever, and I decided it might be fun to highlight cool books! So, here I am! Teaser Tuesday is hosted by Miz B and is all about recommending the books you're reading! Anyone can play along! Just do the following : •  Grab your current read •  Open to a random page •  Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page •  BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!  (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) •  Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! Currently reading: Length - Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt Synopsis: Nineteen-year-old Whit Conrad leaves her conservative Pennsylvania home for sunny California, looking for independence, a fresh start, and a place to stash her grief. She promptly finds a job at a tattoo parlor

LOOK meme!

I don't usually post on Sundays but I have been tagged in the "Look" Meme a couple of times, so I thought I ought to get my post done!  Thanks to Christine Rains and Clare Dugmore for the tags!  The rules of the challenge involve me searching my work in progress for the first usage of the word “look,” paste the surrounding paragraph into my blog, and tag as many people as possible. I am only going to tag five! :p This excerpt comes from my latest WIP, an NA Contemporary Romance, loosely titled, "If I Let You Go."   “What the hell happened to you?” she asked as I dropped my bag down and launched myself onto her sofa. “You don’t usually look like this when you know there’s partying to be done.” Erica was already ready to go. She’d slipped into her favourite LBD and full make-up, and her blonde hair was straightened to perfection. And I tag: Nick Wilford Annalisa Crawford Leigh Covington Morgan Shamy Carrie Butler Enjoy the

GUTGAA - Plus, Seeking Opinions On Fictional Sex Scenes

Have you heard about GUTGAA yet? If not, where have you been? Deana Barnhart has put together an amazing event through September to help writers who are seeking agents. I think this is going to be epic, so check out the schedule here , and sign up! On a random note, I've recently been thinking about sex scenes in books. I absolutely LOATHE writing them. I find them awkward to write, and all those cheesy euphemisms that so often appear? Ick. For the most part, I don't write sex scenes in full because I'd rather have none at all than one riddled with terrible code words for genitalia! However, the new book I'm working on (non Game On related!) called for a sex scene, and to my surprise, I managed to write it without any difficulty. I'm actually pleased with the way it turned out. What I'm curious about is, do sex scenes in books make you flip the pages? Do you avoid them, or are you cool with them? Obviously, I won't be changing what I've written f

Game On Blog Tour Day 14 - The Final Post, Plus Team Leah/Team Radleigh Winners!

Whoa. Two weeks ago, I sat nervously at my computer, wondering how this blog tour would go. Would anyone read my posts? Would anyone care about my book? Would it all just be a massive waste of time, resulting in me discovering that maybe writing just isn't my thing? Today, I'm sitting in the same place, astonished by the incredible level of support, not just from bloggers I already knew, but people I'd never met before, saying they enjoyed my excerpts, liked the sound of my synopsis and my characters. It kind of blows my mind just how well Game On has done over the last weeks and I couldn't have done any of it without YOU! So, this is my end of tour thank you! To those who hosted me, who followed me on every stop, who have started following my blog, left comments of support, bought Game On, left reviews or ratings - I cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am. It has been amazing! Now, we reach the final stop of the tour - and it's right here! I had an id

Game On Blog Tour Day 13 - The Final Countdown!

Okay, where did that last two weeks go? It seems like only yesterday I was watching the Olympics and being nervous about the start of the blog tour, and now there is just one day left! I will save my enormous gushing thank yous for tomorrow's post, but I hope you all know how grateful I am for everything! Remember a week or so ago, I mentioned I had an idea for a book that came to me in a dream? Well, it's kind of taking over. Taking over, as in, I may end up releasing three books this year instead of the two I planned! It probably won't be novel length, more like a novella, but I am surprised by how quickly it's coming together. I know there are people who worry that self-publishers put out loads of books a year because they rush through them, and maybe the quality suffers. I don't want to be THAT person, so rest assured, I will work hard to get it right before putting it out there. If it doesn't get done in time, I won't force it - but just wanted to let

Game On Blog Tour Day 12 - Writers Rock!

Ahh, just two more blog tour days left - and the time has flown by! I confess, I will be glad when it's done and I can get back to some kind of routine, but I've had the best time! :D Yesterday, I met up with Annalisa Crawford, and it was a fantastic day! We had lunch, walked around town, went to the beach, then finished in the pub. :D We were so much enjoying our chat that we didn't realise when Annalisa'a husband had called her a few times, ready to pick her up! I very much hope we can meet again soon for more writerly chat and giggles - and if you're not following Annalisa's blog - go and do it now! :D Today on the blog tour, I will be stopping over at Mama J's place - another British writer with a fab sense of humour - where there will be a guest post from Game On's Freya Phillips. The wonderfully talented and super supportive Carrie Butler will have another Game On excerpt. And the lovely Tara Tyler will be taking a brief time out from C

Game On Blog Tour Day 11 - A Day Out

Is it bad that I am running out of things to say up here? LOL! I haven't blogged this much since the A-Z challenge! I would just like to apologise again for not commenting on as many blogs at the moment - it's a busy time, so if you're a new follower and I haven't got to your blog yet, please bear with me. Next week I'll be back on track! :D Today is a good day!! I am going to meet the awesome Annalisa Crawford ! This will be the first time I've met up with another writer, so I'm excited! I'm not entirely sure the weather is going to hold out, but please keep your fingers crossed because there's not much to do in my town when it rains! :p Today's on the tour, the amazing Christine Rains is sharing a Game On excerpt. Christine has been very busy with her own book launch recently, so I really appreciate her finding time for me! Also, one of my biggest supporters, Tobi Summers , will have a guest post from Game On's MC, Leah, all about

Game On Blog Tour Day 10 - The End Is In Sight!

I have to admit, I'm gonna be sad when this tour is over and I have to get back to doing some real work! :p The last day of the tour is on Sunday, and I know many of you don't blog at the weekends, but the final post will be right here, and it's a good one! I worked with Clare Dugmore last night on something which had us laughing out loud for more than an hour! So, if you want to know what happens when Bree Collinson interviews Leah and Radleigh - you will have stop by on Sunday! :D Today's blog tour stops are for those of you who are curious about what Game On is really like! First of all, my favourite little ray of sunshine, Cassie Mae , gives her feelings about Game On, and tells us where she falls in the Team Leah/Team Radleigh debate! :D And then, Jenny Morris , who I love more and more every time I talk to her, will have a Game On  interview! Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Game On Blog Tour Day 9 - Missing Sleep!

I have recently been struck by the insomnia monster. I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a full night's sleep and I am wilting - badly! Hopefully tonight will be the night, but I am still feeling somewhat sluggish today so if I'm not getting to comments as quickly, that's why. (Sorry!) Before I get onto blog tour stuff, I have some congratulations! The beautiful and uber talented Kelley Lynn and Jenny Morris revealed that they now have representation for their collaboration Already There! This follows Kelley's recent super news that her book Fraction Of Stone was picked up by Sapphire Star Publishing. I absolutely love these girls, they are both so supportive of other writers, and always give fab advice - I couldn't be happier for them! :D Now - onto today's blog tour stops! There are four today - but don't let that put you off because they are all awesome! The posts take a (mostly) more serious turn today, so be sure to take a look. I am

Game On Blog Tour Day 8 - Post Olympics Crash

Good morning! :D I am supposed to be feeling refreshed after a weekend of relaxation but ... not so much. Anyone else got an Olympics hangover today? I stayed up entirely too late watching the closing ceremony - and now I'm a little bit sleepy, and wondering what to watch on TV now all the sports are over! No time to be too sleepy though, there are three stops on the blog tour today! Emily R. King - one of the sweetest bloggers in blogland  - will be holding a Game On giveaway, so make sure you stop by and check it out! I visit writer of Provex City, Michael Pierce , to talk about turning Game On into a series - and give you a small glimpse into some of my plans for future books. And the lovely Aubrie Dionne will be giving a Game On shoutout! Thanks to you all for having me! Now, I'm off to work on a brand new story idea that came to me in a dream! Not sure if I can really do that much with it, but it's nagging away at my brain, so I have to give it a try!

Game On Blog Tour Day 7 - One Week Down!

Yup, one whole week into the Game On Blog Tour, and everything is going brilliantly! I am having the best time, I've met some cool new bloggers and the support from everyone has been amazing! Because I'm not really meant to be here at the weekend, I am going to keep this short, but I have another two fab stops on the tour today! Firstly, jaybird - who has been one of my biggest supporters  - has a guest post from Jesse Shaw! If you're not following jaybird, I highly recommend you do because she is sweet, friendly and hilarious! I'll also be with Catherine Noble - a hugely supportive and talented young lady from Glasgow - who will be giving a Game On shoutout, and a short interview. :D Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
