It's Miles of Smiles Day!

The Rules

Several years ago, I created the Bloghop of Joy with Clare Dugmore. The idea behind it was for people to sign up and tell each other about the small things in their lives that always make them smile. Miles of Smiles will run along those exact same lines BUT we’re doing this all over social media. That means you can use your blog, your Facebook, your Twitter or your Instagram to share your joys.

The reason we’re opening it up is to spread this as far and wide as possible. Things on your list of joy could be a random memory, something you see on TV, overhearing something that makes you laugh out loud - just that one thing that makes the clouds part, and the sunshine appear again. We all know that our friends and families makes us happy – that is pretty much a given. We're not talking about life-changing moments, just the little things that inexplicably make us smile and forget our worries for a while.

We would love it if you would join us on our #MilesofSmiles mission! All you have to do to be a part of this happy hop is sign up on the Linky List, and on June 12th, post your list of joy. If you want to join in and you don’t have a blog, just post your joys using the hashtag #MilesofSmiles on your social media posts (Facebookers using personal accounts will need to make the post public so we can find them).

My List of Joys

 The Ducktales theme tune
Seriously, I can be in the worst mood ever, but as soon as I hear this, everything seems better!

Impractical Jokers
As mentioned in the post that first announced this bloghop, I have been pretty disheartened by the state of the world lately. This show is the only thing on TV that makes me forget everything because I'm laughing too much at these guys.

Chinese takeaway
I don't think I need to elaborate!

Photography
I've ALWAYS loved taking photos. But over the last few months, I have really grown to love it more and more. I live in a beautiful area, and taking photos by the sea is one of my favourite things.

New notebooks
Honestly, ask anyone who has ever been in Paperchase or Staples with me, and they will tell you just how much joy I get from just looking at new notebooks, with their pretty covers and their unmarked awesomeness!

Other random things that make me happy are vacuuming (seriously, I love it!), reading, and playing mindless games on my iPad. :D

Looking forward to reading all of your joys - and if you're just seeing this today, you can still sign up and join in with us!

    1. Haha, I love new notebooks but never want to write in them!

  8. I just bought a new notebook for a workshop this weekend and I got excited. Even though I write on my computer now, but I just longed to start writing a book on all those blank pages! Office supply stores are SO fun to me.

  9. That Ducktales song is kinda catchy. I've never heard it.

I love new notebooks too, but I don't like writing stuff by hand so I'm using them less and less. And I've got all sorts of cool ones just sitting there waiting to be used. :)

  10. CHEESE!!!!! Yes, that one makes me smile hard. I chuckled at the Ducktales theme song. We introduced our kids to the series a few years back and they absolutely loved it. Brought back good memories.

  11. Guess I missed this, but what a nice idea! Music and beautiful nature makes me smile.

It's here! WIP: The Movie!

I can't even tell you have excited I have been about this! It's early, so I have only got round to a few entries so far, but I am having a blast reading them all! Thanks to all who have participated, and of course, to my awesome co-host, Rachel ! It's time for me to introduce you to the characters from my - as yet untitled - WIP. When I first started this blog, my WIP was different, so this might confuse some of you (sorry about that!). This is Leah Walker, my MC. Technically, she is a little young, but she looks perfect! Leah is a physiotherapist for an American soccer team, but she is actually an English girl with a, let's say, colourful past. Radleigh McCoy is the ridiculously good-looking, not to mention exceptionally arrogant soccer player who challenges Leah in every way possible.  This is Freya Phillips. Freya is Leah's best friend and roommate. She works as a coach for the soccer team, and she is both very kind, and totally wild! Th...

IWSG: Books Sales

IWSG time! I'd like to start by thanking Alex J. Cavanaugh for this fab bloghop, and today in particular, it is just the motivation I need to get me blogging again! Today, I'm talking book sales. Now, I don't really know if there is any kind of "average" amount of books sales when you're an indie author. I don't know what is considered a good amount of book sales per month, or whether I am doing better or worse than others. What I do know, is that I am happy with the amount of books I've sold. I self-published because I want people to read my work - and people are reading it - yay! My concern is - what if the sales stop? I know after a time, everyone's book sales will slow down, but I have this fear that I'll check my sales every couple of weeks to find that nobody cares about reading my books anymore. The dreaded 0 will show on my Kindle sales, and I will plummet into a pit of despair. It hasn't happened yet, but Game On has onl...

Camp NaNo Update, and details

To begin with, I want to say thanks again to Emily for allowing me onto her blog as a blogging mentor! Being interviewed is always fun, and Emily is awesome! So, to Camp NaNo! Four days in and I'm still on track! Well, I will be when I finish today's writing. :D I mentioned a while ago that I was planning to battle boy POV, and I'm doing my best to get through it. However, it is hard, so I decided to turn my NaNo story into dual POV so it will be 50% less difficult! I'm not against cheating to get the work done. :p Just to give you a quick recap on what I'm doing for NaNo: In Game On, I have a young soccer player named Jesse Shaw, and he proved quite popular during the A-Z challenge. So, I decided he needed his own spin-off story! It's set at the end of the soccer season, when Jesse and his best friend go to London. I don't have a proper synopsis yet, but this is my guideline for now Soccer sensation Jesse Shaw literally has the world at his fee...
