Jennifer Lane's Streamline Book Birthday Bash!

Jennifer Lane is one of the most fantastic authors I've ever met online. If memory serves me correctly, I think I met Jen during A-Z last year, though I could be very wrong lol! The important point is, her books are wonderful, and I am so happy to have found them! This week, it's the book birthday of Jen's novel, Streamline, and I signed up to be part of the celebrations! So, if you want to know more, keep reading! :D Streamline turns one-year-old this week! We're celebrating with a giveaway. Seems like Leo Scott has it all: looks, brains, and athletic talent. He's captain of his high school swim team with a bright future in college and beyond. But Leo has secrets. His mother's crippling car accident has devastated his family and left Leo to deal with his father's abuse, battered and alone. Leo's girlfriend Audrey Rose is poised for her own share of success. As one of Florida's top high school swimmers, Audrey dreams of college swimming sta

Bloggy Burnout

Hey peeps! I know it's been a while, but I needed to take a little time out to decide what I wanted to do, and say, before putting this post together. Since... well, probably just after Christmas, I've been finding blogging harder and harder to keep up with. It's not because I don't enjoy it anymore, I still love connecting with everyone, sharing good news and helping to pick people up on the bad days. But the pressure I put on myself to comment on every blog post and reply to every comment has zapped some of the enthusiasm. In reality, I know you all understand. It's hard to keep up with everything, and if some of you don't comment on all of my posts, that's fine with me. I don't think it means you like me any less, it just means real life has taken over. But in my head, I think, "If I stop blogging, everyone will forget me, my book sales will dry up, and when I get back to it, it will be like starting all over again." Some of that might

Carrie Butler's Strength Blog Tour!

Today I am THRILLED to be here with a post for Carrie Butler's Strength Blog Tour! If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend you check it out!  Take it away, Carrie!   Creating a Fictional Campus Thanks for having me over, Kyra! For those of you who don't know me, let me preface this by saying I'm weird about details. I keep color-coded binders, and I have spreadsheets for everything under the sun. That's just me. So, when I tell you how I keep track of things, it might come across as the slightest bit strange... Setting is a big deal, especially when you're dealing with a series. Every detail contributes to the reader's mental image, and it's jarring when descriptions contradict each other. That's why I mapped out Wilcox's (fictional) campus while I worked on Strength . I drew inspiration from every college campus I'd ever been to, including my own alma maters and a few I visited for band camp.

Well, this month, they very kindly offered to add me to the list of writers they want to help! The mission is simple. If you want to give me a hand and shout me out - all you have to do is share my work via your social media networks, and for those of you who are short on time, I've even set up some tweets and FB posts for you to copy and paste! I do have three books, so you can promote them all, or just one or two. I will be grateful for any help you can give!
