Just Another Manic Monday! (and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, etc!)

Hello my lovelies!

Long time no blog! I hope you are all having an awesome summer - I have yet to find five minutes to enjoy it, but I'm hoping to do so over the next couple of weeks. This post is really just a flying visit so I can catch you up on what's been happening in my world!

I made a very bold decision to release that rock band book that I've mentioned here but never really explained fully. The release is planned for early November. There is a very important post about that inside me about the story, but for now, here is the blurb, and if you would like to add it to Goodreads, you can do so here.

Nobody Knows

It's not easy being friends with rising rock stars - especially when you're the glue that holds them together.

Razes Hell has taken off in the charts, and Ellie can't believe her childhood friends, Drew and Jason Brooks, are on TV and drawing crowds after years spent playing in dodgy bars. From obscurity to overnight success, Ellie soon realises life in the public eye isn’t all it’s cracked up to be as dark secrets become headline news and old conflicts are re-ignited. When a fake feud meant to boost the band’s popularity threatens to rip the boys apart for real, Ellie finds herself torn – a position which only gets more uncomfortable when her loyalty to Jason collides with her blossoming relationship with Drew.

Nobody knows how deep their issues run; nobody but Ellie. With friendship, a music career and a new love on the line, can Ellie keep their tangled pasts from ruining their futures?

I also need to give you a gentle reminder about the Cat Anthology Bloghop on September 5th! I still haven't written my story yet, so if, like me, you need a gentle nudge to remind you - this is it!

I have been super busy with Cats Protection work - although I haven't had to really leave the house to do any of it yet lol! I have taken on the role of Events Co-ordinator for my local branch, which means I now have actual responsibilities! I'm really looking forward to getting my teeth properly into the role but I have yet to meet my fundraising team - that will be happening at the end of the month.

As I frantically finish  typing this message, I want to apologise for my total lack of blogging skills lately - the time of year and the amount of stuff I suddenly have to do is challenging me and I haven't figured out how to juggle it all yet! I'm working on it though! :D

Have a great week, guys!

  1. Nobody Knows sounds fantastic! I love everything about music. :)

  2. I like the blurb for Nobody Knows! Do you find it difficult to write music elements into a book? I have a few scenes in my WIP where the characters are singing and writing songs, and it's hard to figure out. Then again, I'm not all that musically talented...

I know, I still have to write my cat story, too. This week, I swear!

  3. Rock band! You might just start a new series for yourself with that story.
Hope you get a lot of contributions to your cat anthology.

  4. Nobody Knows sounds awesome! I love books about musicians and bands, so this one is definitely going on my TBR list. :D

I have my story for the Cat Anthology written. It's non-fiction, and on my blog right now you can see pictures of the cats that my story is about. I can't wait for September 5th! What you're doing with (and for) Cats Protection is awesome!

  6. The book sounds fantastic, Kyra! And no worries about blogging. We'll all be here. The summer is typically lax for a lot of us.

  7. *dances around bedroom* WAHOO! I am so thrilled about you releasing this book. I LOVE IT! I have been trying to wait patiently for it's release. Fantastic news. And I agree about summer. It's been INSANE. I wish there was more time to enjoy it, but o-well.

  8. I like the description of the rock band book, especially because a lot of girls dream about rock stars, either becoming one themselves or falling in love with one. I know I did when I was younger. :)

It's here! WIP: The Movie!

I can't even tell you have excited I have been about this! It's early, so I have only got round to a few entries so far, but I am having a blast reading them all! Thanks to all who have participated, and of course, to my awesome co-host, Rachel ! It's time for me to introduce you to the characters from my - as yet untitled - WIP. When I first started this blog, my WIP was different, so this might confuse some of you (sorry about that!). This is Leah Walker, my MC. Technically, she is a little young, but she looks perfect! Leah is a physiotherapist for an American soccer team, but she is actually an English girl with a, let's say, colourful past. Radleigh McCoy is the ridiculously good-looking, not to mention exceptionally arrogant soccer player who challenges Leah in every way possible.  This is Freya Phillips. Freya is Leah's best friend and roommate. She works as a coach for the soccer team, and she is both very kind, and totally wild! Th...

IWSG: Books Sales

IWSG time! I'd like to start by thanking Alex J. Cavanaugh for this fab bloghop, and today in particular, it is just the motivation I need to get me blogging again! Today, I'm talking book sales. Now, I don't really know if there is any kind of "average" amount of books sales when you're an indie author. I don't know what is considered a good amount of book sales per month, or whether I am doing better or worse than others. What I do know, is that I am happy with the amount of books I've sold. I self-published because I want people to read my work - and people are reading it - yay! My concern is - what if the sales stop? I know after a time, everyone's book sales will slow down, but I have this fear that I'll check my sales every couple of weeks to find that nobody cares about reading my books anymore. The dreaded 0 will show on my Kindle sales, and I will plummet into a pit of despair. It hasn't happened yet, but Game On has onl...

Camp NaNo Update, and details

To begin with, I want to say thanks again to Emily for allowing me onto her blog as a blogging mentor! Being interviewed is always fun, and Emily is awesome! So, to Camp NaNo! Four days in and I'm still on track! Well, I will be when I finish today's writing. :D I mentioned a while ago that I was planning to battle boy POV, and I'm doing my best to get through it. However, it is hard, so I decided to turn my NaNo story into dual POV so it will be 50% less difficult! I'm not against cheating to get the work done. :p Just to give you a quick recap on what I'm doing for NaNo: In Game On, I have a young soccer player named Jesse Shaw, and he proved quite popular during the A-Z challenge. So, I decided he needed his own spin-off story! It's set at the end of the soccer season, when Jesse and his best friend go to London. I don't have a proper synopsis yet, but this is my guideline for now Soccer sensation Jesse Shaw literally has the world at his fee...
