P is for Peaceful

My A-Z Theme is based on my books, the Game On series. You won’t need to have read them to follow this story, since it’s slightly removed from the full plot, like a side story. What it will do is give you a glimpse into my characters, and a chance to get to know them a little bit, PLUS, during the story, you will get a mini tour of parts of the UK! The posts will come from two of my main characters, Leah Walker and Radleigh McCoy.  If this is your first time here, please start at the letter A. :D

P - Peaceful
(Leah)

After spending a little time on Fistral Beach, trying to kill off some bad memories, Radleigh and I went to one of the hotels overlooking the beach to get something to eat. Another tradition Radleigh had yet to experience was the traditional Cornish Cream Tea. Scones with jam and clotted cream was amongst the things I’d missed the most when I was in the U.S, and since I’d been back in England, a Cream Tea was still a rare treat for me.

After teaching Radleigh that you’re supposed to put the jam on before the cream, we ate in a comfortable, peaceful silence, enjoying the view.

It had been an interesting morning. I hadn’t expected to feel so conflicted on going back to Fistral Beach. The beauty, the sadness, the relief that everything had changed. Having Radleigh with me made it easier. This was just another moment that showed me how different he was. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t even nearly over the phase of wanting to be in bed with him every second of the day, but I loved that we weren’t just about that. There was more, and it made all the crap we went through to get to this place worthwhile.

Short post today, due to time restraints! Thanks for reading! :D

Here's a teaser from Blindsided, the second book in the Game On Series.

Blurb: After a successful first soccer season in L.A, Jesse Shaw heads to London with his best buddy, Hunter, but his world is turned upside down when a dangerous prank threatens his career and his blossoming relationship with Hunter’s cousin, Isabelle.

Isabelle Mills lives in Notting Hill with her parents and her twin sister, Georgia. When she finds out her cousin is coming to stay, along with his famous soccer player friend, her first instinct is to hibernate until they’ve gone. However, once she meets Jesse, everything changes. He’s everything she ever wanted, but with so many obstacles in their path, can she really risk putting her heart on the line?

  1. Short posts are sometimes a good thing! Relationships should be more than just sex, they should be deeper and emotional. It really seems like Radleigh and Leah have a serious connection. I can't wait to read it. Crossing my fingers to win your giveaway!

  2. I agree with Vanessa, relationships should not just be about spending time in bed, they should be deeper and the two people should definitely connect on an emotional level.

  3. A traditional Cornish Cream Tea sounds lovely. And yes, while spending time in bed is wonderful, a relationship can't only be about that. Not if you want it to last, anyway. Lovely post!

  4. How can a guy say no to a woman who wants to be in bed all the time?
Wait, did I say that out loud...?

  6. Cornish Cream Tea sounds lovely!

Sometimes after visiting places from our past we can be overcome with a new sense of peace and that is always an amazing feeling. :)

  10. Okay. Since you're talking little getaways above, I gotta tell you my story. My husband suggested the other day taking a trip to England next fall. This is highly unusual and so I was suspicious. (I'm the one who would've love to travel Europe, not him.)

After some more questioning I find out that the Dallas Cowboys are playing the Jaguars at Wembly Stadium. Do not ask my why. (Cory's a Cowboys fan)

And I said, I'm not going all the way to England to watch a football game.

He said, we're not going JUST to watch a football game.

I said, oh yeah, what else are we going to do.

I waited a few seconds while he thought. Then he goes, we'll go see that big rectangle thing in the middle of the circle.

Oh, you mean the Arc de Triomphe? That'd be Paris.

    No, the big rectangular thing.

    You mean, Big Ben?

    Yeah. He nods.

    What's Big Ben?

    Silence.

But gotta give him points for trying. :)

IWSG: Performance anxiety

Welcome to the August edition of IWSG, hosted by the amazing Alex J.Cavanaugh ! So, as most of you know by now - because I haven't shut up about it LOL - my first novel, Game On, has been released. The blog tour officially starts next week (YAY!) but I find myself becoming increasingly nervous. A blog tour not only highlights my book, but me. What if people don't like me? What if my guest posts suck, and everyone thinks I'm boring? If I can't engage people in 300 words on a blog, they probably aren't going to pick up my book. And then there's the "what happens next" question. I plan to make Game On into a series, which feels a bit arrogant of me. I don't know how many people are going to like the first book, should I really be planning to keep the series going? So far, Game On has actually been incredibly well received. I've had great reviews, so maybe I shouldn't worry about people not liking it, but what if Book Two isn't as goo

Dust It Off Bloghop!

Welcome to day one of the Dust It Off Bloghop, hosted by Theresa Paolo and Cortney Pearson ! This hop is all about the WIPs you wrote, and then shelved! Okay, so I am teaming up with Clare Dugmore for this one, because back in 2006 - yup, we've known each other THAT long lol! - we started to write a book together. Unfortunately, other commitments got in the way and we never finished it - but even so many years on - it's still something we remember fondly, so we're going to dust it off for you! The first day, May 3rd: We want you to post a 1-2 sentence pitch (Great way to practice pitches) about the shelved WIP. Here is the pitch Clare and I came up with: For best friends Caitlin and Tori, their first acting job out of Uni opens up a whole new world for them – unfortunately, it wasn’t the world they were expecting. When the strains of adult life and tangled relationships threaten to ruin their friendship, they are forced to take a look at what’s really importan
