J is for January

My A-Z Theme is based on my books, the Game On series. You won’t need to have read them to follow this story, since it’s slightly removed from the full plot, like a side story. What it will do is give you a glimpse into my characters, and a chance to get to know them a little bit, PLUS, during the story, you will get a mini tour of parts of the UK! The posts will come from two of my main characters, Leah Walker and Radleigh McCoy.  If this is your first time here, please start at the letter A. :D

 J - January
(Radleigh)

I had just under three months to persuade Leah she wanted to come live in L.A with me. Soon. I knew she’d come eventually, we both knew it, even if she didn’t want to admit it yet.

I had to be back in L.A full time in January, and I didn’t want us flying back and forth for a couple of days together here and there. I wanted her with me all the time.

Pushing my ego aside to understand why she wouldn’t fly home with me right away was the hardest thing I’d ever done. She loved me. She told me she loved me, and I loved her. Shouldn’t that have been enough?

I’m man enough to admit I did understand why. I hurt her bad. But I was also pretty confident that spending Christmas together in L.A would be the decider for her. She’d be back with all her friends, not to mention Bree’s 21st birthday party was coming up, and if there was one thing Leah loved to do, it was party with Bree and Freya.

So. I made a choice. I’d fight every urge I had to ask her if she’d move in with me and do what she asked me to do. Give her time. Now, don’t be thinking she had me whipped here. I was just doing what I had to do.

I’d have the rest of our lives to be a pain in the ass. But before I could make that happen, I had to be patient.

P.S I tried to set up a Rafflecopter giveaway this morning to go with this post, but the site had an internal error and lost all the info! BUT, next week, watch out for a giveaway because I will be offering copies of Game On! :D

Today's Teaser comes from Blindsided, the second book in the Game On Series.
Blurb: After a successful first soccer season in L.A, Jesse Shaw heads to London with his best buddy, Hunter, but his world is turned upside down when a dangerous prank threatens his career and his blossoming relationship with Hunter’s cousin, Isabelle.

Isabelle Mills lives in Notting Hill with her parents and her twin sister, Georgia. When she finds out her cousin is coming to stay, along with his famous soccer player friend, her first instinct is to hibernate until they’ve gone. However, once she meets Jesse, everything changes. He’s everything she ever wanted, but with so many obstacles in their path, can she really risk putting her heart on the line?

  1. That's right - lure them in slowly. And don't make it obvious.

  9. She is teaching him a little bit about what it takes to be in a relationship, without even having to say anything! I like it. :D

  10. It's funny - the main character in my WIP is Bree (although I spell it Brea) and my dog's name is Freya. So reading this gave me a double dose of that mini-jolt you get when reading a very familiar name. Fun idea for the A to Z challenge!

Hope you’re having fun with the challenge,
    Jocelyn

IWSG: Performance anxiety

Welcome to the August edition of IWSG, hosted by the amazing Alex J.Cavanaugh ! So, as most of you know by now - because I haven't shut up about it LOL - my first novel, Game On, has been released. The blog tour officially starts next week (YAY!) but I find myself becoming increasingly nervous. A blog tour not only highlights my book, but me. What if people don't like me? What if my guest posts suck, and everyone thinks I'm boring? If I can't engage people in 300 words on a blog, they probably aren't going to pick up my book. And then there's the "what happens next" question. I plan to make Game On into a series, which feels a bit arrogant of me. I don't know how many people are going to like the first book, should I really be planning to keep the series going? So far, Game On has actually been incredibly well received. I've had great reviews, so maybe I shouldn't worry about people not liking it, but what if Book Two isn't as goo

Dust It Off Bloghop!

Welcome to day one of the Dust It Off Bloghop, hosted by Theresa Paolo and Cortney Pearson ! This hop is all about the WIPs you wrote, and then shelved! Okay, so I am teaming up with Clare Dugmore for this one, because back in 2006 - yup, we've known each other THAT long lol! - we started to write a book together. Unfortunately, other commitments got in the way and we never finished it - but even so many years on - it's still something we remember fondly, so we're going to dust it off for you! The first day, May 3rd: We want you to post a 1-2 sentence pitch (Great way to practice pitches) about the shelved WIP. Here is the pitch Clare and I came up with: For best friends Caitlin and Tori, their first acting job out of Uni opens up a whole new world for them – unfortunately, it wasn’t the world they were expecting. When the strains of adult life and tangled relationships threaten to ruin their friendship, they are forced to take a look at what’s really importan
