The Faerie Prince by Rachel Morgan

As you may have noticed, I'm a big fan of Rachel Morgan, so I'm here today to celebrate the release of her new book, The Faerie Prince, and as if that wasn't enough, there's a giveaway involved!
It's release day for The Faerie Prince, the second novel in the Creepy Hollow series! Woohoo! If you're keen to read it, you can find it at the following places online:

Guardian trainee Violet Fairdale is just weeks away from one of the most important occasions of her life: graduation. After messing up big time by bringing a human into the fae realm, Vi needs to step up her game and forget about Nate if she hopes to graduate as the top guardian of her year. Everything would be fine if she wasn’t forced to partner with Ryn, her ex-friend, ex-enemy, current ‘sort of friend’. They might be trying to patch up their relationship, but does she really want to spend a week undercover with him for their final assignment? On top of that, the possibly insane Unseelie Prince is still on the loose, free to ‘collect’ as many specially talented faeries as he can find—and Vi is still at the top of his list. Add in faerie queens, enchanted storms, complicated not-just-friends feelings, and a murder within the Guild itself, and graduation is about to become the least of Vi’s problems.

In celebration, The Faerie Guardian is on sale for a limited time!

There will be a giveaway running from now until the end of the blog tour (Sun 9 June). A giveaway where FOUR people could win something! The prizes are a signed copy of The Faerie Prince (or The Faerie Guardian, should the winner prefer that), an Amazon gift card, a mini book pendant and necklace, and a Creepy Hollow pin badge. Check out the pic below!
Giveaway is open internationally

Morgan Media Does Animated Bookmarks for Blog Sidebars and Websites

The lovely Rachel Morgan is here today, talking about the launch of Morgan Media, a brilliant company set up to help writers with the more awkward and time consuming things they have to deal with when launching and promoting a book. Not only does Rachel do stunning work, she offers excellent prices that won't break the bank! Check out what she made for me, AND read all about Morgan Media here:

Morgan Media is a small business offering quality services to indie authors at affordable rates.

Message from Rachel Morgan, the founder of Morgan Media:
"I'm an indie author, and it's taken me many, many, MANY hours of work to figure out how to navigate every step from finished manuscript to published work. There's the ebook formatting and the print book formatting and the ebook cover design and the print book cover design. Then comes the marketing--of both yourself and your book--and for that you need blog tour buttons and blog headers and Facebook fan page cover images and artwork for bookmarks and button badges and postcards and whatever else you might want to give away as part of your book launch. All of this takes a spectacular amount of time that you probably don't have, especially if you're busy promoting one book and trying to write the next one. So why not get someone experienced to take care of most of these steps for you? That's what Morgan Media is for."

Hey guys!

I feel like I owe you all a gigantic apology. I said I was back into this blogging thing, but since I last posted, stuff happened.

First and foremost, last week, my best friend's cat was taken suddenly ill, and we had to have her put to sleep last Wednesday. To some, that might sound like a feeble excuse, and I understand why. I used to feel the same. I always understood pet death would be sad, but before I had pets, I just kind of... shrugged it off. NOW I know better, and it wasn't even my cat. It's been a rough week for my friend, and I've spent a lot of time trying to help out in any way I can. It was pretty awful to see such a beautiful, full of life cat disintegrate so suddenly, and while it's not as hard for me as for my friend, it still hit me in a way I hadn't expected.

Secondly, I've been super busy sorting out the book signing stuff! Annalisa pointed out- rightly so - that I didn't include details of where it's happening in my last post! It wasn't entirely unintentional. It's just, most of the people who read this blog live in America, so the likelihood of anyone being able to come is VERY minimal. However, Annalisa was right. If I am promoting this event, I better do it properly! So... here are the deets:

"Local authors Kyra Lennon and Annalisa Crawford will be holding a book signing on June 15th at the Smugglers Inn, Dawlish, Devon. Books will be available for sale on the day, plus giveaways of signed bookmarks and other promo items. There will also be a raffle to raise money for Richard's Wish - top prize is a Kindle, but many other items will be raffled, too!"

If there are any Westcountry writers reading this, it would be amazing if you could come along and see us! It's shaping up to be a pretty good day, and the more people we get, the better! The Smugglers Inn is a great pub, with stunning views, even better food, and a great family atmosphere.

So... that's what I've been doing. The thing with being busy is that I'm still doing everything I need to do, but it feels like I'm just going through the motions. Please know that if I promised you a blog tour/cover reveal post, it will be done, and please don't take my short, quick email responses as sign that I'm no longer interested in what you're doing. I still love and support you all, I'm just running on limited time and trying to cram way too much stuff into the day.

Thanks guys!

So, one day, I had this bright idea...

... to organise a book signing!

Yup, that's right! In a moment of slight madness, and with some encouragement from friends, I decided to put together a mini book signing event, where I could meet friendly locals, hopefully sign some books and give away some stuff, and let more people know what I do!

The event is happening on June 15th, and I roped the lovely Annalisa Crawford in with me for several reasons. Firstly, more people need to know about Annalisa's books because they DESERVE to be read. Secondly, we always have fun together. And finally, if nobody turns up, we can get drunk because we're doing the signing at a gorgeous country pub! :p (The part about getting drunk isn't really true, I don't drink, but it's nice to have someone to sob with if nobody comes!)

As part of the organising for the signing, I decided I'd also do something useful for a local charity, in the form of a raffle. Hahahaha, I have never done anything like this before, but thanks to some amazing people, I have got a bunch of kickass prizes including a Kindle, a full body massage, a £20 voucher for a tattoo, meals at local restaurants, books, a painting by a local artist and SO much more. If anyone's interested, the charity is called Richard's Wish and it's a pretty awesome cause, so I'm thrilled so many people have rallied around to support them

So, with around four weeks to go, I am slightly terrified. There is a very good reason I use a pen name, and it's mostly so if I suck at what I do, people won't necessarily know it's me! :p Doing a signing is a little bit like walking around town naked. There's nowhere to hide! I know every time I release a book, there's potential for criticism, but it is MUCH scarier when the criticism might come from people who actually know me.
On the other hand, it  could be an overwhelming success. :D
Either way, it's organised, I'm ready to go, and there's no turning back now!

Christine Rains: The Oracle & The Vampire Blog Tour

Good morning! I'm still struggling with my WIP, and trying to find my way around the blogosphere again, but while I'm still getting settled, Christine Rains is here on her blog tour for The Oracle & The Vampire! So, I will leave you with Christine! :D

Harriet McKay lives a double life. She's a sweet, young nurse by day and a raving old hag by night. The curse of the banshee is difficult to bear, but not nearly as much as being in love with her neighbor who has never seen her during the day. Nothing is more of a turn-off than being called “Grandmother” by a gorgeous man. She can't seem to catch a lucky break. Not even Harriet's cats respect her.

Two centuries hasn't given Kiral Ozdemir the wisdom many vampires possess. When the craving takes a hold of him, he can't resist seeking out human blood laced with drugs. He's made many mistakes in his past, but Kiral is trying to atone. He's been clean for almost three years until he drinks from young Harriet and becomes obsessed with her. Yet he can't find her, but her “grandmother” swears she can help him find her if he takes her along with him.

Harriet has a vision of Kiral's death and is determined to prevent it. The problem is she can only do so much in her banshee form. She's a slave to her visions and her weak old body. The question is what can a crazy crone do to stop fate and change it to her favor?

This is the first book in the series written from two points of view. I originally planned on just writing Harriet's, but my CPs felt the story lacked something. It came together when I added Kiral's side of the story. Yet even with that, this is a one-sided love affair. Harriet has pined for him for a few years, but Kiral has yet to meet her when she's a young woman. This tale is about the birth of a spark. How a romance might come to be if Harriet can save Kiral from Death's grasp.

Title: 1305 & 1306 – The Oracle and the Vampire (The 13th Floor series, #5)
Author: Christine Rains
Genre: paranormal romance
Release date: May 13th, 2013

Having fallen for her gorgeous neighbor might not be so bad if Harriet McKay wasn't in her hideous banshee form every time Kiral saw her. Such is her curse. True, he's a vampire struggling with a drug addiction, but he's a good soul. Yet no one could love a cursed witch, especially one not even her cats respect.

After having a vision of Kiral's death, Harriet makes it her mission to save him. Never before has she attempted to change fate, but so strong is her love.

Kiral Ozdemir struggles to make it through every day. The craving for blood laced with drugs directs his every thought until he tastes Harriet's potent blood. The magic immediately addicts him, but she disappears. He's desperate to find her, racing blindly into a city in chaos.

How can Harriet convince Kiral to see past her vile appearance and return her love? If only she can force him to listen to reason coming from a raving crone, perhaps she can save him from the demons hunting him and from himself.

Cover Reveal: Friday Night Alibi by Cassie Mae

It brings me HUGE pleasure to be here today for the cover reveal of Cassie Mae's novel, Friday Night Alibi! If it weren't for Cassie, and all the super awesome bloggers she introduced me to, I don't think I'd have done half as well with my own books. This girl is a superstar. Talented, kind, generous, and freaking hilarious! I wish Cassie the best of luck (not that she needs it!) with her new book, and now I will hand you over to the lady herself! Let's all dance together!

I'm super thrilled to show you all my cover for my New Adult debut, FRIDAY NIGHT ALIBI, published by Random House Flirt. This baby comes out on July 29th, but you can buy it now! And it'll just zap onto your ereader the day it's released.

Wanna know what it's about? Well, it's about this pig who learns how to fly, but only on friday nights and he grants wishes to people who are not where they're supposed to be, to get them out of a bind. You know I'm totally joking. I just wanted to see how many people just skipped over all these words to get to the pretty cover, lol. You mention the pig in the comments and you get cyber gold stars.

Here's the blurb :D

Rising star Cassie Mae introduces New Adult readers to a practical soon-to-be college freshman who seems to have everything—until a special guy shows her what she’s been missing.

In the wealthy town of Sundale, Kelli Pinkins has hatched the perfect plan to capitalize on her sweet reputation. For a generous fee, she will be every trust-fund baby’s dream: a Friday-night alibi, the “girlfriend” or “BFF” that parents dream about. With college approaching in the fall, Kelli’s services are in demand more than ever, which means that her social life is nonexistent. But Kelli is A-okay with that. She’s raking in cash for school. Besides, relationships are tricky, and sometimes very messy. She’d rather be at home on Xbox LIVE, anyway. Then the unexpected happens: She meets college stud Chase Maroney.

Chase isn’t like the preppy, privileged guys Kelli usually meets in Sundale. For starters, he’s twentysomething, always wears black, and he shoots back one-liners as fast as she can dish them out. But Kelli’s attempts to drive Chase away falter when she realizes that he treats her like he really knows her, like he cares about knowing her. When Kelli finally gives in to the delicious kiss she’s been fighting for so long, she faces a tough decision: make Chase a real-life boyfriend and risk her heart . . . or keep her clients and lose her first true love.

Advance praise for Friday Night Alibi

“Totally entertaining with as many swoon-worthy moments as hilarious ones, Friday Night Alibi is a must-read.”—Jolene Perry, co-author of Out of Play

“A fun, funny, and fantastic story, this is one you will read in a day, and pick up to re-read again the next.”—Kelley Lynn, author of Fraction of Stone

Oh, and stuff about me too.

Cassie Mae is a nerd to the core from Utah, who likes to write about other nerds who find love. Her angel children and perfect husband fan her and feed her grapes while she clacks away on the keyboard. Then she wakes up from that dream world and manages to get a few words on the computer while the house explodes around her. When she’s not writing, she’s spending time with the youth in her community as a volleyball and basketball coach, or searching the house desperately for chocolate.

And now the pretty!

You can buy this book HERE, and it takes you to all the places it's available. Yay! My first published book with MY NAME ON IT! Squee!!!

Hello? Is this thing on?

*gives a huge beaming smile to anyone who is still here*

Yes, I'm back!

I've been gone for just over a month, and that was plenty of time for me to recharge and be ready to dive back into the blogosphere - assuming you haven't all forgotten me! :p

How have you all been? Congrats to those of you who completed the A-Z Challenge. I caught a few posts here and there, and it looked like many of you rocked the heck out of it!

Where have I been, you ask? Well, I had another rock star adventure, which you can read about here. But, if you don't wanna read the whole post, you can just look at this photo of me having dinner with Fozzy:

Me and the super awesome Fozzy drummer, Frank Fontsere!
I bought him those drumsticks, they have his name on them! :D

I've also been working hard on my WIP, and I'd like to think I'll be done with it quite soon! I'll be back with better details next week. Mostly though, I've just been chilling out and spending time away from the computer, which is what I intended to do!

Bear with me for a few more days as I might not be commenting too much just yet, but next week, I will be in the swing of things again, and I'm looking forward to catching up with you all! :D
